Ways to keep Christmas wonderful during Covid-19

Benefits

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Christmas holidays are always a great period, regardless of where you are in the world, however unfortunately in 2020 things are going to be a wee bit different to normal.

Oh yes, as the devastating Covid-19 pandemic rages on there are going to be all manner of differences this year, but this doesn’t mean Christmas is cancelled – far from it!

And you know what we’re like here at Winzum, always trying to think up new ways to keep our lovely online competition community happy. Well, we think it is outrageously important that we all have a wonderful Christmas after the year we’ve all had, and it got us thinking about some ways to keep Christmas wonderful during Covid-19. Please give us the pleasure of sharing with you!

Make full use of technology like Zoom and Skype

Video call technology like Skype has been around for several years now, however there has never been a time where it has been more needed. Due to the global pandemic it is way more difficult to see your favourite people, although with Skype or Zoom we all have the chance to at least see peoples’ faces.

Back in March everybody was making full use of video chat platforms, and it’s a no-brainer to do the same during the Christmas holidays. You may not be able to sit and have a Christmas dinner with the grandparents in person this year, but you sure can do it over Zoom or Skype!

Arrange a fun family Christmas quiz

Quizzes are incredible fun you know, and there aren’t many more fun examples than family Christmas quizzes. Arranging a fun family Christmas quiz is a brilliant way to get people together, especially seeing as many Christmas family gatherings will have to be held over Zoom or a similar platform this year.

Go all out on the Christmas decorations

Christmas decorations are wicked fun to put up every single year, however we have a feeling that Christmas decorations are going to take on even more significance this year. It’s harder to get out and about to see all the lovely decorations in towns and cities, so home Christmas decorations are even more important!

We’re all going to be home a lot more during this peculiar Covid-19 Christmas, so why not make it as wonderful as possible by going all out on the Christmas decorations?

Use the extra time to craft your own Christmas presents

Whether you like it or not, the global pandemic has given the vast majority of us a lot more free time, and a worthwhile way to use this is by crafting your own Christmas presents. Don’t worry if you’re rubbish at arts and crafts, it is the thought that counts with homemade Christmas presents, in fact they are often the most well-loved for this very reason!

Don’t be afraid to get the paints and canvasses out. You never know, you might end up with a genuine masterpiece on your hands…
