Lockdown top tips and tricks

Benefits

Over at Winzum we think you’ll all agree on one thing – 2020 has been a tremendously strange and often uncomfortable year. From the bottom of our hearts we really do hope that everybody has been able to pull through without too much bad news. Something that keeps us going is imagining the pure joy when we’re out of this mess!

Unfortunately, however, there is a little bit left to go until we can all finally let our hair down, with a winter lockdown on the cards for a while yet. One of our main commitments here at Winzum is to make sure we are helping out our lovely online competition community as much as possible, so we thought we’d share a few lockdown top tips and tricks to try and help…

Exercise outside as much as possible… even if it’s cold!

Oh yes, it’s cold out there these days, isn’t it? Whilst it was a lot easier to keep up an outdoor exercise routine back in the first lockdown in the spring, it is a lot harder now when the days are shorter, and the temperature frostier. Still though, don’t let this stop you from breaking a sweat, as it does wonders for you physical and mental health too.

So, even if it’s cold out there, try and force yourself to go for a run, cycle, walk, even a swim! Okay, we’re joking on that last one, but the point stands. And if you fancy a bit of musical motivation why not check out our Jabra earphone giveaway [check out our Jabra Headphone Giveaway]? They’re perfect for exercise!

Set yourself a nice target to complete by the end of lockdown

There are many many reasons why lockdowns are cumbersome and boring, however the silver lining is that for most of us they also offer a fair amount more free time. As a result lockdown can be a perfect time to set yourself a nice target to complete by the end – a wonderfully constructive way to spend your time!

It doesn’t have to be anything big at all, but if you have something to work towards you will certainly find it easier to pass the time, and you’ll be able to look back and feel a sense of satisfaction too.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself

It’s lovely to set yourself a target to complete before the end of lockdown, however at the same time it is also important to not put too much pressure on yourself. These are strange and testing times, so sometimes the best thing to do is just sit back, relax, and wait for it all to blow over.

At the end of the day everyone’s minds work differently, and this is a crucial time to simply do what works best for you.

Use the extra time to keep in contact with friends and family

It’s strangely ironic, but over this year many people would have had more contact than ever before with friends and family. Things like Zoom calls have become the norm, which is nothing but a good thing, because it keeps you closer to the ones you love.

We all know how tempting it is to become a recluse during these strange times, especially over the winter, but you will feel so much better for keeping regular contact with friends and family if you can!
